EZ now on trashing us yard dogs , we are not all impatient idiots.
Ive got all night to do my job safely , and we always give the road drivers the right of way and help where and when asked.

I’ve always give Yard Dogs the right of way. It’s their yard. Usually helpful, if needed. Aside from the occasional want to be Boss!! Had one in Memphis at XPO stop me. What you got? Where’s it going? He probably meant well, but was aggravating. Thanks, I know where I’m going!!

Some do the job safely, but some of them fly thru a yard like a super trucker(which at some locations is just asking for an accident).

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Well that's what you get for dropping trailers with the landing gear all the way down.

    Rideandrepair and Capacity Thank this.

I work at a Mega and from day one they've always said the Yard Jockeys have the right of way. If you get run over it is on you. In Jest they also said if you hit someone. Back up to be sure you finished the job. Death benefits are cheaper.

If I get hit by a forklift on a dock, it’s my own fault. I stay out of their way, haven’t been hit, thankfully. Too bad a stupid move cost him his life. A tragedy absolutely. But it’s his and only his fault. Drivers just doing his job. The small window of sight a mirror has can easily miss someone zipping behind the trailer. I’ve actually seen idiots run under a trailer while backing in, taking dangerous risks has consequences.

    God prefers Diesels Thanks this.

I always drop my just enough for the landing gear to take the weight. And that has nothing to do with the current subject matter.

Bud A. and Rideandrepair Thank this.

The death of the yard dog was warranted by his previous habits of dropping trailers too high. The devil took note and spanked his ###
