Tx dmv number

    Starting a new trucking business.. have dot number and mc number... but don't have a tx dmv number... company is based in Texas, do I need a dmv number even if I have a mc number?

    If you do any intrastate loads, you need one. Basically, if it picks up and delivers and you don't leave the state. I assumed a national DOT number would supersede a single state, but it doesn't. Setting up a TxDMV number is very easy, though.

    Edit: You don't need to post it on your truck, though. I just have my company name, base city, and USDOT number. Only need to carry the paperwork.
