Arkansas expects inches of rain. Which will takes several days State Wide.

    HOWEVER.

The temperature arriving of freezing air to convert that to ice storm and or snow depends on when and where it gets to Arkansas.

Mountain Home, is expecting 8 inches. Fayetteville at least 4. Searcy about one. Russellville 1.

Icing will be centered in the buffalo state park between F'ville and Mountain Home which will be bad. US 65 comes to mind.

    HOWEVER.

Icing IS possible for I-40 Border to border at most in spots if it is below freezing and wet.

The forcasting has been changing day to day. Will know more this weekend.

Well shoot I’m coming from Joplin,Missouri heading to San Diego California. My route takes me on the I/40 Thursday Friday. I’m wondering if I should just drop down to the I-10.

No you will be pretty much out of this area by tonight if you roll. Im thinking I-20 towards Dyess if possible. To start off.

I-10 is your ultimate goal. It's a matter of not being around northern half of texas and where you are in particular. There are warnings up now for the border states.

If you’re going to hit Amarillo anytime Friday, you can expect problems across the panhandle and towards Albuquerque

I started this morning in uranus, MO From Joplin I now only have 7 hours left on my clock. By late afternoon today Thursday, I will be shutting down. I think I need to drop down and and get on the I20 and then the I10 ASAP

This is 4 inch potential map for Friday. Lesser amounts will be more widespread and lesser amounts in this region can be very problematic

If I shut down in Amarillo today, and rolled at 3 AM tomorrow… Shouldn’t I be able to miss this storm?
