Tyson still pays very well, and the benefits are great!
BUT…
Per my previous statements here, there are some downsides these days.
We’ve gone from “We hire great drivers to do the job well and take care of our equipment!” To “We buy idiot proof trucks that know everything, and drivers are a necessary inconvenience.”
We’re all in on nanny systems and driver “coaching”. The Samsara is watching you. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You have to decide if that’s for you.Knucklehead and Speedy356 Thank this. -
I'll take that under advisement, thanks pigdude.
I like what Fcc has to offer but they're in Nebraska. I'm in North Carolina. I'm looking at other companies that are closer to where I live. -
Fremont Contract Carriers - Freemont, Nebraska INFO@FCC-INC.COM
1) Perhaps you can move to Nebraska. Freemont NE is 40 miles northwest of Omaha NE. I do realize that this might not be possible if you have family with kids in school, or your wife may have a really good job in the town that you live in, not sure if North Carolina is in your hiring area.
2) However, if you are single & have no kids, perhaps you could give Fremont Contract Carriers a call to see if there are any openings for you. If so, try to move to Nebraska, switching your CDL to Nebraska.
Whatever decision you make, the absolute of luck to you and your family!
NOTE:
1) If you are a veteran, see if you can join Navy Federal Credit Union. There is a branch office in both Raleigh NC & Omaha NE, should you decide to move to Nebraska.
2) Years ago, when I was in the U.S. Navy, (1984 - 1992), I joined Navy Federal Credit Union, back in January 1987. I use it to this day, including direct deposit of my monthly Social Security check.
3) Perhaps you can use it for direct deposit of your current paycheck, providing your current employer has direct deposit for the employees, some do, some don't.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!Last edited: Jan 11, 2025 at 4:33 PM

@born&raisedintheusa,
Actually they do hire out of NC. Me & the wife moved to North Carolina 2 1/2 years ago. We really love it here,
It'll probably make more sense to go with a company near me. -

Yes sir,
Going to give them a call. Thanks -
I’m out of Charlotte with Tyson. I think they are decent. Only negative I will say is you have to get on seniority list to become a regional driver-home every 6 days. They are very flexible with home time though, I stay home 4 days after being out for 11. Cheap benefits through them.
Knucklehead Thanks this. -
Oh ok,
I'm in Eden,
Not far from the Danville plant. Thanks for the infor AlexAlexCLT Thanks this. -
I'm also looking at cheeseman transport & Southland Transportation out of Bonneville, NC
