ultrashift plus dash display not working

i have a 2007 kenworth t 600 with the eaton ultrashift plus and the display in the dashboard only shows 2 dashes. from what i've found online that means it lost communication with the trans computer but nowhere seems to show how to fix it. i've tried to unplug the wire harnesses from the trans module( hoping it's just a bad connection) both screws are missing and i still can't get them to unplug. should they just pull out after the screws are removed. should i being looking at something else? i will have my cdl by the end of next week and am trying to get everything working properly before my dot inspection so i can hit the road asap
