Understanding Speeding tickets?

I've got a Class A CDL w/tanker and Hazmat but haven't driven in about a year due to family issues. Anyhow, I was headed up to Lubbock last week (in my personal F150 truck) and got a ticket outside of Lemesa. I should have known better but the damage I done. I haven't gotten a ticket in years and never with a CDL. So I'm trying to understand how this effects my CDL?

it means watch your butt for the next 3 years is all. most companies allow one in 12 months, two in 36 months.

 

Yip. Just be careful. Now if your driving local for a company servicing the gas rigs, they could probably care or less. I was on the radio. There was one old boy that had to be back for his weekend in jail. He was trying to get community service. So it depends on the company.

When I'm driving, it's generally hauling diesel refilling Frac pumps out in the oilfield. So their typically not overly concerned about a lot of things. I just wanted to double check.

 

well first, you will NOT GET any CSA points as it was a non-commercial vehicle.

second, i would try my best to go to court, and plea it down to say a light bulb infraction instead, BUT PAY the fine they want. as long as you "make an offer" they cannot refuse, you just might "get away with it", and never have any CDL issues..!!

 

No one asked the obvious question...what were you written for? Anything over 15 MPH takes things to a new level.

yes, well that CAN BE A BIG PROBLEM, but do as i suggested. go see the "prosecutor" and "make a deal, to pay the fine and court costs, if he reduces it to a smaller charge that is not a threat to your license. all they want is the money anyhow.

You may need to consider another line of work for a while till this one goes away..
