United Furniture Shuts Down

CF took a page from PIE's book on how to shut down a company except PIE sold off it's tanker division a little while before they shut down the freight. We knew something was going on but nobody expected PIE to fold up completely. They'd been there forever and when you got a job there you had a career. Oh well.
No non-union replacement for PIE either. Those of us on tankers thought they might start back up and run gyppo but they sold out to Matlack instead. Matlack was willing to take everybody in at the bottom of their seniority list if we'd transfer to the Bay Area, L.A. or Lansdowne Pennsylvania.

 

Bring it back any way... I gotta get back to the yard to get my vehicle to go home. But, If I could get a little extra for bringing back... if they think there's a chance they'll have to send a wrecker after it, they may just give a driver a little sump'm to bring it back.

Don't hurt to bluff a little.....
