MrBill I can't send you an email yet, not enough posts but you asked about United Truck Driving School In San Diego awhile back and no one responded.
Curious if you have heard anything since that post?
Their website says they work with the unemployment office and if I can gt training paid for, it may be an option for me?

Hi, can anyone tell what they know about United States Truck Driving School in Rialto,CA?
I was thinking of going to one of the trucking companies who train but want you to stay on for 6mo to a 1 year for their paid training..but United States Truck Driving School has been calling and i have a chance to go there also and would not be tied to any company and free to apply at the company of my choice...any advise? -
if you obligate yourself to stay with a company for 6 mos. or a year, or
whatever. that's exactly what you will be. obligated -
USTDS used to be the school that Schneider contracted with for their training program....went there myself. Equipment was a little old and beat up, but the training was pretty good. At that time, all the instrustors seemed to know the ropes, and they actually wanted you to learn. Some even went above and beyond to help students that weren't quite up to speed.

Has any one attended the United state Truck Driving school in the Colorado Spring area?
If so, please give me all the feed back possible on this school.
It is the only school that I have been able to locate in the Colorado Springs area where I could obtain my CDl and would be paid for by the PPWF agency.

The one in Fontana, Ca. is pretty good. I assume they're the same operation, with the same name.

I would invest in a shovel before I would go to USTDS. Sorry I had a ###### exp. with one of their recruiters a number years back, lying piece of ..........

I went there in 1998 (Lakewood) when they had a deal with Stevens for "free training." Well it really wasn't free you know- but I had a picture of the truck that said free training so I stuck to them and Stevens for over hiring and not hiring one person from my class. We all ended up at West Way Express.
The training was ok- when I was there, the trucks were old. The trainers were all owner-ops that knew each other from some previous time and it all worked out ok. Just make sure you have a Job lined up with a carrier before you take all that training. I wouldnt want to be on the hook for any expenses at this time. (I ran into a fellow yesterday from Colorado with little experience that was in Houston looking for a CDL job from Denver.)
Any training you get in Colorado make sure they show you how to chain.Last edited: Nov 12, 2009
