Sorry, I got distracted and didn’t post the part numbers for the upper shock brackets.

Couple things to keep in mind.
How do you plan to make the difference in length from spring eye to center of axle work on your truck with an AG130 spring?
If I figured correctly, the AG130 is approximately 4.125”/105mm shorter than the parabolic spring currently in plane.
Another argument for the single 9422 bag on each side is cost.
The 9422 bag is far cheaper, and more readily available than the small factory bags on the four bag setup.
As far as bag travel, in my experience the shock and the spring will limit travel before the bag.

I guess shorten the drag link will be a given, but it looks the like tie rod is in the clear if the axel is moving forward. Is there anything else I need to be aware of? I see some bling shops sell a steering dampener that attaches to the tie rod to ?, but they are about the lowered hot rod look which is not me.

and maybe I will end up going from a set back axle to proper old school cab over, which for better or worse I completely ignorant about, except for they look the ####. Well to me anyway. I need to do a little fiberglass repair hear and there so to cut and rejoin to make way for the wheel won't be to much more work.
    upload_2026-5-29_4-12-56.jpeg

You are on the money with the smaller 7.1" bags. One they are double+ the price of a single but you need 4, and 2 I can't find anyone in Aus who stocks anything near. I need to avoid a brake test at all costs, and I know brakes are not suspension buts its the axel and its possible twisting. Which a big fat 9" bag will stop. The test does however expose the weakness in drum brakes of repeated use and efficacy, so fear a request for disc brakes will be handed down. I have been told the test is so ridiculous not even new vehicles can complete it, but you see all sorts of conversions so there must be a way. Am I right in thinking the single has been an evolution for cheaper practical trucking by owners, not a factory manufactured product?

Not my dash but very similar. Top left there are 2 air pressure gauges, kind of pride of place like your happiness depends on them or is it your life.
    upload_2026-5-29_4-52-30.jpeg

I've decided however my happiness depends on music, pod casts, and audiobooks. The new stereo showed up yesterday and think the double din head will go into that top position nicely, and the 10" screen then clicks to it. Just look at the volume button, thing of beauty isn't it.
    upload_2026-5-29_5-4-31.jpeg

Then this bad boy to go on the windscreens head board of top of sleeper crawl through. Either way I reckon that engine is not so noisy anymore and I will have become a gauge watcher. I have two slots down in the lower black section of the dash were tipper gate switches have been placed, the air can mover to there.

Now I got distracted. Thanks for the p[art numbers.

Do you fit a sway bar at all?

Sounds like you have a plan for the axle. That’s good.
Shortening the drag link isn’t rocket science, if you have access to a good machine shop. I did it on my original setup.

As far as four bags being better in a hard braking application, I think that is BS, because the thick, forged half leaf is what keeps the axle from rotating, not the bag(s).

A big reason PACCAR uses four small bags is packaging. The big single bag diameter can be a bigger to fit and clear the drag link etc on one side, and the oil filter, etc on the other side. The smaller diameter of the four bags mitigates that a lot, but then you need four to carry the weight. Two 7.1” bags gives you 79 square inches of bag surface, and one 9.1” bag gives you 65 square inches of bag surface, so…

I agree. I guess from an engineering point of view, plus an insurance perspective, and in this country governance like to make out trucks are like sharks of the roads, just driving around waiting to kill someone; so don't think the guy with all the sign off powers will give a rip about saving me money. It will be easier to bend over and just pay for the pricier 4 bag option. They last a decade or more so perhaps not that big a deal. I have asked Stengel if the freight is correct.

In the end however, to put this 93 on the road is much cheaper than keeping my 2013 DAF alive. Significantly cheaper. Like one control arm bush $40.39 for the 100, $340 for the DAF controlled and supplied one. I'm confident Paccar want to corner you into upgrading to a new trap.

Ok Oldman, think I've nutted it out.

Inspector is OK with single bag. However he did ask what's the weight rating for them. The rating for a W01-358-9422 at 80 PS is 5,100 lbs (2,313 kg),
at 100 PSI is 6,400 lbs (2,902 kg), so not quite 6,600 lbs (3000 kg) for the nazis down hear.

What he did say in his view, KW probably run twin bags to use lower pressures for better comfort, where as one bag will need to be higher PSI, plus the narrow probably fit better. That makes sense to me.

So I got excited then I got demoralised but not out. So I started using AI to do what its best at, and cross reference the expensive Firestone bags that Kenworth's AG130 suspension like to use. Turns out the W26-358-9933 has a half priced brothers in Automann ABSK125-9933, Continental 78360, Torque Parts TR993, or even Paccar's own expensive budget brand TRP AS99330. All a direct replacement for the flashy Firestone. The Firestone however is the only one with 19" travel, all the others are 14.5" which will be plenty.

So in the end I'll get an "engineered" suspension that is easy for the Engineer to sign off on. The bags are not a silly price and may run softer. Furthermore all the bag and shock mounts supplied are matchy matchy and probably cheaper than going custom. So thanks to you I'm in the hole for double but also feel this is a better way to go, as a cab over doesn't scream comfort. I'll by a spare spring and bag for any unforeseens that need fixing that afternoon.

Bit of an up date, think a covered area has been found to park this truck while work commences. Concreted may be a wish too far. But it also looks like it will be just down the road for me so I can rebuild the AG100 suspension myself and tinker.

I was hoping to buy all the suspension stuff out of the US as it appears cheaper, but add freight on and it goes sideways sadly. The AG130 suspension has been trimmed back to only the stuff I can't source hear in Aus. Hopefully the retailer is still talking to me as the order was halved due to their initial freight estimate doubling. They have gone quiet on me so I'm a bit nervous. I guess in some ways a global economy on airbags for example don't have to cost $300 at my local parts shop anymore, rather $140 which is close enough to US pricing without the freight. Not Firestone though.

    So far I picked up
new windscreens and a drivers window as the original are marked
    new screen rubbers
new window slide seals inner and outer for both sides
Window channel track and door rubbers
    8 new AG100 suspension bags
Torque rod and stabilizer bar bushes
4 low volume gas shocks opposed to normal gas. The spin is they are softer than traditional gas and made in Aus for our appalling roads.
Set of shiny red Koni shocks for the front. Oil filled with adjustable rebound. A set of Sachs were half the price but not adjustable. I do think they would do just as good a job but given this is a 10 year project, the Koni can be bump up as time passes.
Led tail lights, reverse light and marker lights.
Led head lights with hooded bezel, plus day time driving light strip.
    Led light bar, small one.
2 Detroit Diesel plastic coated decals to look very OE. (I think)

Engine rebuild kit and new head been priced and ready to pull the trigger on upon finding covered work area.

Removed the ride height mech and 4 bag equalizer mech of the rear suspension from a DAF I have down the back, which has saved me about 50K in paccar parts in keeping my current DAF running. I'm hoping that may be of use for the AG130 front.
And think the Eaton auto, and turntable with mounting rails (US spec) is in the bag off a donor truck down where the mechanic is located. There is talk of a wiz bang suspension seat also but have not heard more on that yet.

So slowly its coming together, and far more exciting than the ol DAF.

    Feedman Thanks this.
