Well I know the dirty ol cab over is a thing of the past in the US, but today I pulled the trigger on the air glide suspension. Seems Aus just don't have anything to do with it, so hoping our roads are no different to the USA.

I went the TB77 greaseable bushes as I can source them hear. The rubber RB-295 I believe would be better complementing the suspension just that bit more for what its designed for, but freight is 1/3 the bill and the bill is already 2/3 more than standard parabolic springs. So hope the advice this way is the way is spot on. .

Just need to be patient now and wait.

Isn't that a thing of beauty.....

I love this stuff. Wreckers wanted $280 for one in ? condition plus freight. So I found some local old guy who fixes gauges and for $240 its a good as new. It hasn't clocked a K since 2019 according to the paperwork it last changed hands, and was going to put it on a motor and run it up to 0 as the engine will be rebuilt. But it appears in 1993 a speedo cable no longer existed.

Some points for those following along, it seems 59-748 and 59-750 are generally all that's available. I wanted 59-690 as its marginally longer and supports RB-295 for all bushes. But no go. Various sellers suggest 59-748 is 12,000lb, and 59-750 is 13,2000lb, but nope all springs are 12 to 13,200lb.

Some other bit that confused me was the front eye supports TB-77 (greaseable) and RB-295 (silent block) and both are 1.75 OD x 7.5" length. However the rear also supports those two and third RB-298, a 6.68" long silent block bush. In the end its to do with how thick your shackle pins as all bashes have ODs of 1.75".

So the Stengel Brothers are providing RB-295 all round for me on the 59-750. Which is a small thing but I know from previous suspension the silent block bush plays its part in making suspension smoother as it has its own resistance and buffering effect.

    Oldman83 Thanks this.

Well I'm excited. Have found a covered work space for Dirty ol K. My AG suspension is in transit, and its free from the bin. Might even have a buyer for it otherwise I'll stick it on the tug being replaced and sell it off that way. Time for an engine rebuild then a tune.

oooo you wait old man, it will not only look smart, it will be almost new. Can't tell you how keen I am to have a simple old truck with some character ready to work for the next decade.

    I’m having withdrawals too. :(
I haven’t had a chance to work on it in almost two months. I’m very glad for plenty of work, but man I wish I could make some progress on it. IMG_5123.jpeg As it sits currently.

Sneak peak of a few of the last mockup pictures before final disassembly for frame paint prep.
