US-212 or I-90 Rapid City SD - Billings MT

Its a good road. 2 lane middle of nowhere. 1 big pull on the indian res, nothing to crazy. If not tight ontime id just stay on i90... theres a nice truckstop in moorecroft wyoming.... Nowhere to stop on 212. Make sure u full of fuel and snacks

 

I think there was something a year or so ago posted here about avoiding 212 as the Indians dont like trucks cutting across the res or something like that so I would just stick to 90 as well.

 

Several , avoid it in bad weather or after dark .

 

Also ...avoid the j in hardin as it is a dump ( broadway) and on the 1st of the month the natives get theyre checks so the liquor flows it gets wild for a few days ....billings is much calmer and close .

 

I used to run it alot but I quit running west a couple years so maybe its cleaned up some .

 

I must add tho if you wanna see how the other side lives by all means do run it ! Especially on the Montana side ...you may even get some money saving tips on how to board up broken windows in a trailer house or shack , along with how to get the max number of junk cars in the yard .
Skinny horses add to the ambiance of the junk cars and appliances, lawn mowers are illegal there .
