Since USA is going to primarily regional, yes you probably will be running around Spartinburg alot. You really don't have a home terminal so to say with USA, Spartinburg and all the others except Van Buren don't do dispatching it all (except Laredo) comes out of Van Buren. Laredo does most of their own dispatching.
Next question for you... Why are you going all the way to Fort Worth when C1 has schools in Fort Wayne, and Indianapolis which would save you time and money? -
Fort worth was where I was told I would be. But will ask my recruiter to try and get that changed.thanks for the insight.
-
I'm from SC myself and, during a short stint doing regional runs when TMW was FUBARed, it seemed I was running mostly out of the Atlanta terminal. I also went to C1 in Ft. Worth; not sure if your state of residence has anything to do with which campus you get sent to, though.
-
Yea just found out south Carolina will recognise a Texas school but not In.
-
What does that matter, you get your license in school. SC has to recognize any states license. There is another reason they want to send you there. Probably overbooked in Indy. Possibly North Little Rock AR would still be closer though.

I went to school at C1 in Indianapolis. The school director told my class our temporary Indiana CDL was excepted in all the states. He encouraged us to go ASAP and get it changed over because once that 90 day expiration date passed it became harder to do. If my memory serves he said Ohio will take the CDL but Ohio required you to take the written tests again.

From this website^^^^^
After establishing a residence in South Carolina, you must apply to transfer your CDL license within thirty
(30) days.
The South Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles will obtain driving information through the Commercial
Drivers License Information System (CDLIS), the National Drivers Register (NDR) and from each state in
which you have been licensed. You will be required to surrender your out-of-state license before a South
Carolina commercial drivers license can be issued.
To transfer a CDL from another state to South Carolina
1) You will complete the application at your local DMV Office.
2) Certify you have, read and understand and meet the qualifications requirements under 49CFR,
Part 391 of the FMCSRs. You must also show a valid DOT physical card or long form.
3) You are required to surrender the actual commercial drivers license you have in your possession
at the time you apply.
4) Each applicant must pass the vision test.
5) The fees for transferring your commercial drivers license are the same as applying for an original
license.
6) To maintain the hazardous materials endorsement you must re-test and pass the hazardous
materials examination and TSA background check. -
Yup, that's the exact process I went through.
-
They are closing down the Spartanburg terminal. They have already shut down Indianapolis maintenance.

thats no big loss
