Instead of spending so much time on here whining maybe you need to take the time to figure out what you are or are not doing right. Talk to your FM instead of cussing at him, turn in you hours daily and early. Deliver on time or when possible early. Sweep out the trailers before showing up at the customers. Treat the customers with respect not disrepect. When delayed ask if there is something you can do to speed things along. There are just so many ways to improve your situation the list goes on and on.
Now as far as how much time I spend on here that's my business, not yours. Which may also be part of the attitude adjustment necessary to improve the outcome of your situation. Some of us manage our time better and have the time to chat more.RetiredSarge, Weeman7898 and Thomas0810 Thank this. -
Its no secret. Its been posted here plenty of time. Its all about the attitude you choose to take.RetiredSarge and Thomas0810 Thank this.

Such a general statement. How long does a driver have to take it in the arse before he starts making a fuss? I always told everyone if I got good miles most of the time and then had a few weeks where the miles were low you wouldn't hear a peep out of me. Its not the driver its the company. I guess everything has to be the drivers fault though. For every driver getting the good miles there are 10 getting low miles.truckermario Thanks this.

Ok, since this is way off topic anyway and has absolutly nothing to do with USA finacial status why not send me an IM and maybe we can come up with some ways to improve your situation. ThxThomas0810 Thanks this.

I have friends that drive for USA and I asked them about this and they havent heard anything and seem really content. If they are broke how are they in business and hiring?

So like always this morning I left the house and put fuel in (50 gals) at the little truck stop by my house, just like I always do. I don't have a fuel gauge so I normally just make sure I have at least 50 gals before I head out. Went to run my card and it declined. I called USA and was told that my card was on but still declining. I was then asked where I was getting fuel and I told them. That's when the arse chewing started.
I was told that I needed to follow the fueling solution no ands, ifs or buts. I tried to explain that I didn't have a fuel gauge, but no dice. I was told that I was no longer showing compliant with the fueling solution. So I called the fuel desk. Was told that yes, from now on we are no longer allowed to get 50 gals just anywhere. We now have to call the fuel desk or our fleet managers to find the best locations. He then started in about how far I should be able to go on a tank of fuel. So I asked him "are things really that bad, that we've come to this?" And I was told yes, "USA is running on fumes right now."
Would be nice if we could all keep up with USA's running around in circles to try to find money. I get trying to save money at all costs, but truly it's starting to get a bit ridiculous. I worked for a company that went defunct several years back. I saw the warning signs and ignored them. I'm starting to see the exact warning signs here..... -
I haven't really followed the fuel solutions since they started it and haven't heard a word about it from anybody. I've noticed that the fuel solutions always seem to want me to stop 3 times for fuel over a 300 mile period, and one of the stops is often 60+ miles out of route. Also, the routes the system gives you are practical, and they are still calculating short paid miles for the trip.

Have you written it up and attempted to have it repaired? I think it's 396.3 that if it's on the truck it has to work or you face a malfunctioning equipment ticket.
If they still give you a hard time run out of fuel a time or two. They'll fix it then when they have to pay for a service truck.Thomas0810 Thanks this. -
No USA isn't that broke. They are just trying to save money like any other company. And the fuel solutions is used by other companies sooo... they took it for granted that it works and implemented it..
I for one think it actually is costing them more money than they are saving, but once again they are only looking at one budget and not how it is affecting the overall picture.
When you consider the OOR miles that are incurred, the
time and extra fees that are involved making multiple stops, and the loss of drive time because of the multiple fuelings it really doesn't add up. But whatever...
