Not seeing any placards ?
-
If there weren’t any placards installed then that driver (and company) is in serious trouble. I’d like to see what the BOL actually says.
Cleanup for that is going to be EXPENSIVE!!
(6 maybe 7 figures) -
Yep, that was the first thing I thought..
Gonna be expensive. -
You assume they will even pay. A common thing fuel theives do is load it into a van in tubs and mark it as something else then shove a couple containers of the actual product at the back and transport it. They are almost always shadow carriers and will typically vanish when the gig is up and have new numbers on the side of the rigs within an hour.
They also tend to move stolen fuel over state or even country lines. Some will even sell to a list of companys who will buy it for say 20% of market value, report they paid full price for it for taxes and to avoid anyone looking too close and pocket the diffrence. -
Yep it would be shocking to discover this is a carrier that follows any sort of regs. Bulk diesel fuel in a dry van with no placards??? The taxpayer will likely foot this cleanup bill. Or maybe they just leave the truck in the ditch like they do out in Missouri when some quadruple brokered chameleon carrier puts one in the median.

Probably has them tucked into his terbanSons Hero, austinmike, Tall Mike and 2 others Thank this.

As most know I don’t drive no modern truck, so I have a question….. some of these newer trucks have a king pin lock control in the cab?
Noticed it says the trailer broke loose from the truck and slid into the median…..Flat Earth Trucker, D.Tibbitt, Numb and 3 others Thank this. -
On the king pin release that’s on the dash of these trucks if it’s set up that way generally it’s not supposed to work when the parking brake is released but with anything mechanical anything can go wrong at any time as we all know.
