uses to be.
they've gotten better.
I've had sprint my whole life. only had verizon 3 years.
verizon don't make the phones. but they write the software that resides in them phones. and that's where the bugs lie. and the restrictions verizon enforces on their phones.
I have a v note 2 and a sprint note 2. they DONT function the same as far as the operating system goes. totally different menu layout in the settings tab. for one ezample.

No bugs or restrictions here. Just a happy Android user. If Sprint put up that many towers in 2 years I'll be danged.
-
your restricted, you just don't know it. and most people don't. it does what they want and that's all they care.
and as long as people aren't going to bed with their favorite search engine in tact. only to wake up in the morning to find it gone and bing in it's place. the people are happy. -
Typically Bing is associated with ad or malware. If that is happening they need to clean their phone.and I don't know how I'm restricted. I can do anything my Sprint phone can and better. And I still have that phone
-
I dont use bing....and i have a note 2 with verizon
-
You're exactly right. Another co-worker/driver has AT&T and has the Galaxy 5 (I have the S4). In conference calling, he can add/drop whomever he wants whereas I can't answer the phone and bring that person in. Only way I can initiate a conference call is for me to call both (can only have 2) parties and merge them together. Even then, I can't hang up on one. If I want to ensure one party is off the line, I have to hang up the entire call and call back the person I wanted to stay on the line with. That's one example of Verizon restriction. -
i'm pretty happy with my sprint phone. haven't been able to test wyoming yet, but nevada has service all the way along 80 now.
my verizon has been hit and miss lately.
the restrictions i'm talking about are things like root. not a big deal with sprint, verizon does everything they can to keep it locked down. real PITA.
developer options are right there on my sprint. verizon makes it a hidden secret. you have to tap a greyed out item 7 times.
there's a lot of neat things one can do with their phone. things most users won't dream of doing. but for those of us that do. verizon dn't like that idea.
there's a group of geeks called cyanogen. they make their own version software. for just about anything android. and they do a much better job. and even strip the original software of all the bloatware most of us don't use or like. and throw in a few goodies we do like. they even dress it up to look cooler and nicer.
i haven't done anything with cyanogen since i came back out on the road. no time to keep up with everything and i got tired of the headaches trying to get my verizon phones to install. so i just deal with verizon crappy software. and lack of gps with all the models i've had.
i reactivated my sprint phone and coverage is much better then years past.
as for bing, it's not malware. it's a microsoft search engine that verizon installed on all their customer phones a few years back. people went to bed with their search engines installed, woke up and they were gone, bing was their new search engine. -
I do wish Apple would build a CDMA iPhone that allows data when talking on the phone. Someone not in the know might think that too was a VZW "restriction" where it's actually Apple's unwillingness to add another radio like the Android phones have done on VZW. -
iPhone 6 not CDMA capable either?
