Hello guys well as the title says I was in fact pulled in to the southbound scale house on 85 in Charlotte for an inspection. Been getting used to it since us small carriers are easy targets to meet the quota for the day. Anyway the Trooper came up asked for the creds and asked me where I was coming from. I told him Charlotte and heading to Gastonia for another pick-up and then off to Knoxville TN. He then says well hell your not inspectable. HUH? What does that mean. He begins to tell me that if I am starting my day in the state of NC and making pick-ups in the same state I am not eligible to be inspected according to their protocol. I have never heard of this and asked well I have been inspected before at scale houses in NC with pick-ups in NC leaving the state.

He told me basically I was being signaled out because as I said hot shot carriers running two and three car haulers are way easier that full size class 8 trucks. He said the Troopers that are inspecting you are just getting their quota and in some cases he has known reports to be tossed out because their policy doesn't permit that. This Trooper was also really cool about telling me that even though my GVWR on my trailer and truck total 24 K I am rated on registration for 26 K so if I was pulling a load with 25 or 26 K and my tires aren't blown out or bent and I am doing so safely I wouldn't be given a ticket. Then there was some other stuff that really wasn't to relevant. But I did also find out even though I have CSVA stickers from 2016 they are considered good for 3 months even into the new year depending on the quater. Now I know there are a lot of you old head professional encyclopedia guys here that all know this but I figured I would share it with some of us that may not be as smart as ya'll. Just felt like giving a little info back to the guys that have been a huge help on here for me.

Have a great day, travel safe and God Bless
