I've been a car hauler on and off since 2002. I have never heard ratchets as squeaky as the one on my 2023 Cottrell quick loader. The squeaking begins when the strap tension begins. I don't think I've ever had ratchets squeak so bad that it became a concern. Does anyone know the best way to fix this problem?

On a flatbed winch/ratchet, I spray some penetrating oil, WD 40 or whatever.

I use liquid wrench lubricating oil (not penetrant) it's in a blue can. Seems to last longer than WD and it's a bit more slippery. You can usually get the outer bushing behind the teeth, and the inner one is easy

Lol you must be a Southern boy. Otherwise you would carry a few cans of WD 40 or something similar. I spray mine every couple weeks.

I keep them coated with gear oil. They stay silky smooth all year long. Sometimes WD40 to clean them off every now and then before applying new oil. I used the same protocol for binders too.

    I do.
That's a lot of spraying. You think these things would have grease fittings on them. I'm sure the grease would last way longer.

Doesnt last in the elements as well as a can of pb blaster, free all, or even used motor oil.

    Looks cleaner though

Quickspinz do have grease points. You remove the plug with a very small Allen wrench, install a grease zerk and grease and then reinstall the plug. You can’t leave the grease zerk in the Quickspinz as the tie down bar will not insert properly with a grease zerk installed. IMG_0887.png

Did they go back to the cap screw? I know there for a while they had the little rubber gasket for the needles. Either way, don't over grease them or you will hate yourself for 6 months at least.
