No , i dont know how they look like, should make knocking noise when go bad, still sounds smooth like a Swiss watch, and im afraid to do oil analysis . :)
I replaced camshaft only in 2014 at 1.5 mil. injectors twice and injector cups only twice ,I posted pictures if you remember, didn't replace or open head gasket yet. I bought it new in June 07, running mostly team.
I used synthetic oil only Rottela T6 5w40 and since last year I switched to 0w40.
The worst nightmare on this truck is this Hendrickson steertek axle, unsafe dangerous garbage. I replaced everything on steer axle, still rough ,took it in a dozen of Volvo shops but are clueless, no way to set it the way was originally. I used to run 250,000 miles on a set of XZA3+, in first 4 years, now I'm lucky to to get 100k.
I talked to this guy here at Volvo in Ayr,Ontario last week, they don't even bring anymore trucks with air ride steer axle.

At what mileage did you delete the emission system?

I was looking to but couldn't find anyone reliable, I still don't know anyone to do the EGR for D13 and for DPF only doesn't worth the hassle. All emission system is still functional.

did you by any chance change the springs as well i know they have a lot of issues from bushings other than that it's just a matter of setting the alignment properly. for the money you spent you should have put regular volvo axle on with no air ride just would have cost you maybe an extra 2k for springs and hubs

Thx Nasriza, I'll try bushings again, but Hendrickson doesn't recommend to replace bushings, I did the whole springs 3 times .
I hit a small bambi deer few years ago, damaged my rad, air to air,.So, I towed the truck and trailer loaded , they fixed it but after I noticed rough bad handling. The axle was damaged the springs bent and the brackets at the rear end of spring . This axle is welded, weak flimsy hollow designed to save weight, springs are also to weak to get towed with loaded trailer. Check the tow truck drivers discussions about this axles , the engine can get damaged also in tow http://tow411.yuku.com/topic/107331/New-Hendrickson-Steertek-NXT-axle
Hendrickson has multiple complains and lawsuits , they issued towing instructions it and recommend pulling the tractor only.
