Volvo D13 500hp with Ishift for heavy haul

Just my humble opinion based on my experiences with auto trans trucks. If you will have to do any driving on unpaved roads like jobsites or maybe mines and the like, I would not do heavy haul with an automatic. In my experience its easier to get stuck and harder to get your ownself unstuck with an automatic even without being particularly heavy.

 

You don't realize these aren't automatics like in your car don't you? These are manual trannies either air or electrically shifted.

 

I HH with a Mack tridrive and automatic. Works awesome!
Grossed at 92,360 kgs last week with it, down gravel roads, through the snow, over serious mountain passes, and it was flawless. These new automatics are amazing!
