Same story here, I now order everything thru my mechanic, small guy, he gives me his pricing on parts (way better than I would ever get from M and K dealers) and labor is 68$ per hour.If You ever need Volvo guru in Chicagoland, PM me.If he has time he will help You over the phone too.

dealer pricing depends on who is behind the counter and what kind of mood they are in sometime they give list price sometimes they give you shops cost if always helps to make some friends at dealers. i know the dealer around chicago and i can tell you that if you want good pricing for volvo parts CIT is the way to go m&K is hit or miss. although here in chicago they do match aftermarket pricing so sometime you get a break getting original price for cheaper aftermarket price

I paid $34 for a switch on ebay. Took the truck to the dealer, who shorted it out, then charged me $200 for the same switch. No markup here.....

I've noticed two common things at the Volvo dealers, after spending wayyyyyyyyyyy too much time in their waiting rooms.
    1. They markup the price on parts like it's going out of style.
    2. They really love the work on the truck for 5 minutes, call it an hour. Repeat throughout the day and a 1 hour repair comes to 8 hours.
I've heard several customers complain about the exact things. Seems Volvo dealerships operate under the same strategy of overcharging for parts and labor, and somehow still not fixing the problem.

I just heard a customer going at it with the dealership because they charged him for 10 hours of labor and new parts. All they did was plug in a switch they forgot to plug in the previous trip in. He marked the parts, which they didn't catch, and caught them red-handed. Should have seen the looks around the waiting room.

It's all about how greedy the parts manager and dealer principal are. there are " suggested " prices in the computers ALL of which can be manipulated ahhh "adjusted" by whomever w/o the counterperson knowing.
    Boy...the stories I could tell.

Under $350? Did you mean per side?
No way you can score all that under $350.
Brake shoes and rotors along will cost that per axle. Plus the rest of the stuff and labor.

Or do you mind to share where?

Rotors?? Oh wait- You have that state of the art disc brakes huh?? I don't know anything bout them..

Yes, Drum Brakes are $70 per set(axle)- Bearings and races are $90 a set- Seals are $35-30 each- That's Well under $350

Matter of fact- Throw in Drums and your still under $500 per axle-

Sorry- But $3500 for that work is High- I don't think Disc brakes are in the $1000 neighborhood- If they are, Glad I don't own them
