Volvo warranty confusion

When I bought a Volvo from dealer 3 years ago. The warranty the original owner (crst) had bough was transferred to me. Cost me nothing and I did no paperwork. Just went to Volvo and that said "hey that's still covered under warranty. I was told I could buy the extended warranty. But only if purchased before the existing one expired.

 

I had an ishift fixed under warranty as a second owner, no questions asked.

 

Keep in mind this is for under 500hp and 1750ft-lbs or less settings also. If you have the 1850ft-lbs torque setting the warranty is half that

 

500hp eco-torque is covered to 750k, this is what I have and how it worked up for me on a 2015 truck.
Also, the newer ones 18 & up it doesn’t matter how many hp, they get 750k mile warranty on the transmission.

It’s worth to check with the Volvo dealer on a particular truck, seems like it really depends how they put this in the wartanty system when new.

 

Yes, just call a service center or ask when buying parts at the volvo dealer.
