When filling out paper work for a company as a company driver, why would one need to fill out a W4 for the home state where you live and the state where the company resides? The job is an OTR 48 states

The W4 form is just telling the employer how much to deduct from your check for taxes based on your number of dependents and a few other things if applicable.

I understand what it is for, but why would I need to fill it out for both states?

Should only be for your home state.

    Why?

Because their accountant doesn't understand how the system works.
