a good clip-on amp probe meter is worth it's weight in gold for situations like that.
It's not your blower motor, but in the guard during a flood battle, we were replacing fuel pumps till days end and ran the system out of pumps. we still had mechanics who were troubleshooting them and following the procedure for that. Kept coming up, replace the in-take fuel pump.
I finally took about 12 pumps and tested them with a battery and an ampmeter. Startup, 5 amp. Running, 2 amps. Fuse, 3 amp. problem solved with a 50 cent fuse.
Documented it and sent it to the TACOM and they gave system approval to put in a 7 amp fuse for all army 2 1/2 and 5 ton trucks.
those start-up amps will kill you just as well. Just longer to do it.

The box was all rebuilt last year. We passed on the fan (and I have no idea why).
Today, I ordered the fan ($70) and blower wheels ($25) along with the harness ($30) and switch ($12).
I should have all of the parts Friday and plan on installing them over the weekend or Monday.
