The automobile driver was drunk and the automobile driver and his passenger weren't wearing seatbelts, so that is Wabash fault.

"Wabash commented after the trial that the jury “was prevented from hearing critical evidence in the case, including that the driver’s blood alcohol level was over the legal limit at the time of the accident.”
Wabash also pointed out that “the fact that neither the driver nor his passenger was wearing a seatbelt was also kept from the jury, even though plaintiffs argued both would have survived a 55-mile-per-hour collision had the vehicle not broken through the trailer’s rear impact guard."Rideandrepair, blairandgretchen and The_vett Thank this. -
Drunk driving and no seatbelts; that's Wabash fault!

Did I read right?
This is too much. How slimey can humans be?
RIP to the departed, but that drunk driver killed them not Wabash. And this is a United States of America court that refused to give the jury the truth about the whole deal?

Claiming Wabash is responsible for making "safe" trailers is ridiculous. First, the trailer had an ICC bar. Second, how does a manufacturer prevent others from running into them? It's not possible. Should wall builders have to make their walls "safe"? It's not possible. This country has turned into a joke. Clown world at it's finest.
MACK E-6, mjd4277, Rideandrepair and 5 others Thank this.
