When a trucking company pays their company driver a percentage pay, do they by federal law have to show the driver what the billable rate to the customer is? I know when I was a O/O they had to because of the contract. I am fully aware l am no longer paid the FSC. If the company does not want to answer or ignores that question (fishy), do I have the right to ask the customer? If they do by law have to provide that information, where do I find that at besides hear say? I really need to find that actual statue number. Company is located in N.C.

FYI background info. This is not general freight, zero brokers involved. I haul a pressurized tanker and see these customers consistently. I have been with these customers for many years and most became friends with on a personal level. My old company was bought out and this new one has caused a lot of damage.

    Thank you in advance everyone.

I doubt there is a legal precedent
BUT I wouldn’t work for anyone who doesn’t
I owned trux for years….and ALWAYS included the rate-con to the driver before they ever loaded and a copy always went in w/payroll
I’m now semi retired and drive a truck for a friend….and I’m always included in any decision and rate
I do not know of anyone that doesn’t do this
It’s the proper responsible way to conduct business
So IMHO if owners are not willing to show you up front…they’re hiding something
