Are you already licensed? It's be worth it to do a little extra leg work and find a carrier that isn't a mega. If more people did what you did I'd have hope for the trucking industry.

Thank you for coming back to explain.So what now?As I see it you don't have the exp to go local.Most require at least a yr otr exp.Swift isn't the only training company like the MCdonalds of trucking.If this is what you truly wanna do and your heart in it then you need to suck it up and settle for the company you have orientation with,get the exp then move on.I don't care where ya go you will find out things that the recruiter didn't tell you.With respect sir I think you walking out is the cowards way out.Next company stick it out,give it a chance.

Well I actually did start out driving local for a company in Illinois when I got my CDL, wasn't the best place to work for but at least I was home every night and making enough to get by. And yes I do live in Hammond IN right now but I'll probably be going back to IL next year when my wife gets her family problems taken care of.
