Well my time wirh Walmert is coming to a end. It's been a good couple years. I have been treated very well and enjoy the job but it's time to be home with my family everyday. Truly enjoyed working with the Professionals Walmart has and learned a lot. My home DC has been awesome and r really good people that I will miss. Tough decision but family first. I was fortunate enough to to land a good local job which is a blessing.. Even though I didn't find this thread until after I did my road test Pre trip I learned a lot on a variety of topics on here. Enjoyed reading the thread and learning from it. Stay safe and keep on Truckin'

Been driving for Wal-Mart about 10 months now. Want to give my review. I was offered the 5-2 5-3 right out of orientation but I turned it down. Been on extra board now the whole time. Wal-Mart Private Fleet is an amazingly great company to drive for. My biggest complaint is how different DCs do things differently and automatically get mad at us drivers who aren't familiar yet. I.E. (don't walk up to certain dispatch window after hours/weekends even when someone is there, or the age old conflict of.. "do I stop my truck before the gate, the first window, the second window or do I stop past the gate?"). The pay is very good! They advertise $82,000 for first year drivers but I'm well on my way to making over $92,000 my first year. Extra board isn't that bad. 99% of the time I keep my truck the whole 5 days. The PTO is the best in the industry! I'm going to earn about 26 days in my first year and that's not including my 4 safety days! I would like to add that it gets kind of hard hearing the drivers who have been here a while complain about things, I guess they've been at Walmart for so long they have no idea how horrible every other segment of the transportation industry can be. Wal-Mart cares about me and has my back. Was at a live load vendor who tried to be sneaky with what they put on the bill of lading with hopes I wouldn't notice it. I asked them to fix it, they refused so I handed them back their paperwork and the rock told me to drop the trailer at the dock and bobtail out(I still got paid for all activity). Well that's my opinion of driving for the world's best. Take it or leave it!

Can you guys explain the programs 5/2 5/3. I'm thinking 5 on 2 off 5 on 3 off or is that not right?
