Depends on what program you are on. Some programs you have a short week and then a long week. The only drivers I know of that only have a 1 1/2 days off every week are the guys that run full time and leave out the same day every week. Usually Monday or Sunday. Most of their pictures are on the top row (you WM drivers know who I'm talking about) and they bring home in excess of 6 figures every year. They have enough seniority to work what ever program they want to. You can work as hard or as easy as you want to.

There are drivers that have been with WM several years and don't have a assigned tractor. Depends on what program you get on. It doesn't matter a great deal if you have a assigned tractor, others will be driving yours when you are not there. You don't have to crawl into one that is filthy (very rare), the drivers are supposed to clean out the bedding and stuff when they go home for their days off. Everybody leaves their CB in the truck and most leave the XM if they got it. Slip-seating is not as bad as you would think at WM. The worst truck you can get at WM IMHO, is the one where the assigned driver has purchased his own extra chrome to put on, had the wheels polished, armoraled the entire interior, chromed out the gauges, extended the shifter..........but you are not required to treat those trucks any different than the others. Vacuum them out, run it thru the wash bay, and fuel it up and park it. No polishing required!!:biggrin_2559:

Yeah, this truck driving thing ain't for the weak at heart!

Sealy = too close to Houston for me and it's too hot in the summer. Pottsville = too far north for this southern boy!

"Are you being hired as an extra is the first question? If so, then you would be on a 5/2 like me..."
Yes, I'll be on the 'extra' board, but was assured there would be plenty of work, as much as I can handle. Tobyhanna is shorthanded, they are filling at least 14 spots, of which I'm happy to be the first of the 14 (a little seniority can't hurt in a job with little to no turnover). I was also told it wouldn't be long before I got on a program like 6/3, which I think would make an already awesome job even better. Hoping to get call for orientation start date early this coming week, Monday will be 2 weeks since the job offer/drug test. I'll be sure to let you all know as soon as I do.
