You will most likely start your week on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Weekends off are not a regular thing except for the old hands. You could get lucky, but don't count on it. You earn vacation time, safety days, personal time, holidays and when it is slow you can take off if you want to. You won't be over worked, but your days off probably won't be on the weekend. Your bank account will make it feel alright!

I work for prime who hauls for walmart out of olney, il. I can confirm what is being said about the respect they give and the money they make. I may be mistaking but I believe the driver is avoiding pay because if walmart found out who he was they would fire him. It is there policy that u don't mention pay. They treat u well but they also are very strict on rules. As for prime I have been with them 9 months and they are very driver friendly. Atleast they are on the walmart account. Can not speak for otr. My average pay is anywhere from .45 to .63 com. The reason it varies is do to stop bonus and mpg bonus. On this account I get anywhere from 2300 to 2800 miles a week. Now some drivers only get 1600 or so. That is there own fault.

I couldn't do it even if it's just once a week. When you're done for the week you just want to get home and sleep not drive 4+ hours in your personal vehicle.

Depends on what your priorities are. If you could increase your money per mile substantially , then it would be worth it to some people. I would rather to drive that distance twice a week than do like some people and commute 100 plus miles every dog gone day!! And people do that.

Newbie here who is thinking of going to the Schneider Walmart dedicated out of Wintersville, OH after I finish my CDL. I wondering if there is anyone who currently is or has run out of there within the few months. Any feedback about miles and such would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Seems this thread is getting off track............can you say HY-JACKED! It is about driving for WALMART AS A COMPANY DRIVER. A new thread/subject about outside carriers or dedicated drivers, who drive for Walmart, is in order I believe. Not to mention there is no comparison or similarity between the two:biggrin_25513:not even close!

    Hey Vet,
Gotchya beat by a little. I commute 370 miles each way although I'm on a 3/2. I also know of a driver who drives 600 miles each way, he too is on a 3/2. The things you do for money huh?! :biggrin_25519:
