I once had to stay in a rest area to reset my hours. Spoke to a Wal Mart driver for about 3 hours. My conclusion is that they are probably the best place to work. BUT some divers are just too independent. If you are one of those guys with an Attitude then look elsewhere. WM will not put up with mouthy guys and those who think they know more than WM. Small price to pay for good wages, benefits and no BS. The fellow I spoken to had been there for about 16 years and made over $75,000 a year! Try that at Swift or Schneider!

You'll make more than that at a Ltl outfit and be home everyday incl weekends and holidays. No pickle parking and backing up to docks.

$75K is on the low end.

Very few truck driving jobs will treat a driver as well as you are treated at WM. You truly cannot understand how good that can be, until you are here. To be treated with great respect, and as if you really matter to the company, is something that is very difficult to put a monetary value on. Especially for those of us who clearly remember from where we came.

Is it the perfect job for everyone................. no. Is it one of the best out there.................. yes.

Over ten years ago were WM drivers sociable, friendly, wave at you with more than one finger when met traveling the other direction than you........................YES
WM drivers today (of course not speaking about all of them) rude, sometimes hateful, think they are better then outside drivers,etc..................................Yes
Go to one of there DC's and that posted speed limit sign is for YOU not them or there shag drivers! I have complained many times to front gate personal about this at many DC's.

I'll agree. WM is one of the best "OTR" companies out there.

So many people just don't get it, and that's fine. I'm happy to take what they turn down for whatever reason they turn
    their noses up at Walmart.

Pleased to meet you. I had 6.5 years when hired this
past July. It IS uncommon, but I met the requirements and had a perfect record. And I dazzled them on the interview, pre-trip and road test. It just all came together.

As far as what someone else mentioned about income...yeah, 75K is on the low side for sure. I left a Mon-Fri home daily job for this...and have ZERO regrets. And I'm grateful they don't have a union here...means I'll still have a job as long as I want it.

Thats all fine and dandy and I'm glad you making it,but why doesn't Wallyworld take care of the other 1 million store employees and get them and their families off government assistance. Thats when you could be proud of your employer.

    HalpinUout Thanks this.
