    They probably thought they were being intercepted by the IRG (Iranian Revolutionary Guard). If I’m not mistaken Iran institutes the death penalty for smuggling.

    I wouldn't be surprised....there's a de facto death penalty for being gay, so I can only imagine with heroin.
