Hello all! I've been a long-time reader but have not posted much. I have read through almost all of the Watkins Shepard posts and appreciate all the great information on this website. My question is regarding team driving at WS. My wife and I are interested in driving together and while I have 2 years experience, she has none. I will most likely qualify for the 10-day school/orientation and she will have to complete the 30 days of training in Missoula. My wife is willing to quit her job if the miles are still available to us in this slow economy. She's been on the road with me several times so although she's never driven a truck she is familiar with the trucker lifestyle. I spoke with recruiting briefly but would like to get some feedback from current team drivers or solo drivers who stay in frequent contact with teams. How many monthly miles are teams averaging? Are there certain lanes you tend to stay in or is it mostly terminal to terminal or just general OTR? Did you come to WS with experience or did you go through their school? Any information or advice would be helpful. Thank you.

    Nawlins,
First let me say, you are right. The WAY they did it was chicken ####. I will give you that much.

But, we DO pickup in TX, everytime I go down there I pick up in TX, usually Miller Beer.

Actually I think conway defines their teams by a 17k a month average. He's outrun a couple of the months we've run lol.
