    Hello everybody!!

    First time post!!!!

Maybe this question has been answered before but a quick search on the forums gave no results.

I live in Orlando Fl, I am a full time employee and can not just stop to go to school during the week as bills need to be paid.

Do any of you know a school that will do weekend or afternoon clases in the area? I have searched but nu luck!! Only found one but appears to be closed, wont take calls, left both a facebook and phone message....nothing. (BRT Inc.) Any other options?

    Thanks for the help!!

Have you thought about going to a company that will train and pays you during the training? It won’t amount to a lot, but maybe it would get through the 4 weeks or so of school until you start making more? Schneider pays about $80/day during training and within about 5 weeks you’ll be solo in your own truck.

Some companies will reimburse the tuition back to you in monthly payments.
What type job do you want after graduation?

Do you know anyone that has a truck? There is no requirement to go to school, yet.

Case CDL in MO does a one day course, but you need to spend time studying and get your permit before you go.

Can I balance working and starting a program in Commercial Truck Driving?

    Yes.
Our program is a perfect fit for students who have a desire to begin a new career or advance in an existing career, but need a program that allows flexibility. We understand the need for quality programming that allows students to continue earning a living wage while pursuing their certificate.

Todd727, what companies will hire someone who does that? Please list them as I'd like to know. I've got a valid Class A with hazmat and tanker also a med card. I was grandfathered in back in the early 90's.

I get a DOT physical to keep that valid. I write the hazmat test and get fingerprinted every 4 years on my own dime. From what I can see it doesn't matter, the companies want a school certificate.

Not all companies want to see a certificate. Some companies will hire drivers in your situation and it's just not advertised or on the company website.
Try a couple and keep us posted.
