My trailer is loaded wrong. Steers 11660 drives 29520 tandems 36040. I'm headed to Dallas tx from Lakeland fl. Now my weight is legal for florida with my tandems at the max distance legally for florida. Alabama distance from kingpin to center of tandems is the same as florida but my weight would be overweight. There is no Alabama weigh station on my route though. Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas distance from kingpin to tandems is not specified so I could move my tandems back and be legal before entering a weigh station in those states.

Now my questions are does this seem doable to you? I'm 70 miles from shipper and load would have to be rescheduled canceling my pre plan 1300+ mile load back to miami. to me everything looks like it will work out as long as the states above truly are not specified meaning i can move my tandems back around 7 holes. I have about 13 holes of room to move back when needed. what would you do and why?

Wow... you realize you will get everything from just roll with it, to take it back to shippers for reload,
Fill your fuel tanks, slide your seat all the way forward and pick up some large lot lizards to add weight to your steers, slide your kingpin (Hope everyone gets that one), let the air out of your inside tandems to make it lighter and be sure to inhale deeply and hold your breath while on the scale... and many more that I havent learned yet...

This is a good argument for the driver supervising the loading of his trailer, if possible.

Personally, I would take it back and have them re-load it. I never take the chance. :)

Ofcourse it wasn't the closest scale that would be to easy lol. I knew the load was heavy in the rear but legal for florida at the time, I didn't want to drive 15 miles out of route doh!!!! This question would still come up though as I will only be illegal in Alabama which doesn't seem to have a weigh station in route. I hope. I'm going for it.

Today is Friday, you will be trucking on the week-end.If legal for Florida, slide that tandem back a few holes if you can , then set sail for Texas.

There are brick and mortar scale houses and there are portable scales.
Maps indicate where the permanent scale houses are located.
Not so for the portable scales.
And there's a dude named "Murphy".

Yeah, right you are. But on the week-end, going across 10, not much chance of " Murphy" being awake.
