How much heavier is a reefer trailer than a dry van? I realize that every truck has a different weight but how much can you put into a reefer trailer pulled by say a Cascadia?

My reefer trailer says 15,500 pounds, add truck 20,000, gives you 35,500.
Leaves you max 45,000. -
Volvo D13 midroof with APU and Great Dane reefer 35000, can load 45000 lbs

Thanks

2017 Cascadia dd15, Comfort Pro APU, Utility Reefer w/Carrier unit, Empty Weight 34,000.
Richtaco Thanks this. -
Every tractor and trailer is different. With tanks full of fuel I can easily scale 45,000 lbs with the reefer I pull. With full tanks pulling my dry van I can easily scale 47,000 lbs.
I have a T600 and for a truck with a heavy 15L CAT motor it's relatively lightweight. A buddy of mine has a flat top FLD. He has a reefer trailer almost identical to mine but he could easily scale 47,000 lbs in his reefer. -

Great Dane trailers are heavier but my cascadia full of fuel is a little under 35000 empty with utility trailer reefer.

With that said, I think the great dane 48 foot was 14500 empty
The tractor would be around 17000 (FLD 120) add the two together... 31500. Add 1000 for pallets in the nose and another 1000 for driver or drivers and his stuff.
Usually load 48000 in the box but check fuel tanks against any scales you will cross. It's close to right about 80000.
Today's 53 foot trailers with reefer will be a little bit heavier. No pallets in the nose though so... it's a trade off.
