This morning as I'm pulling out of the rest area to start my day, just getting up to about 20mph on the ramp, suddenly the motor shuts off and the entire ensemble of dash lights start blinking in unison with intermittent alarm tone. My first instinct was to look if any indicators were not coming on, but it was every last one of them blinking. They did this about 6 times and then went back to normal, before I even finished coasting to a stop on the shoulder. My ELD also shut down at the same moment and rebooted. Looked for a code, found none. Fired it up and drove off without further issues.

My guess is some sort of systemwide surge or dropoff, maybe due to loose or corroded connector, but I'm not an electrical wiz. Thoughts?

you have a master shut off switch on the floor at the drivers seat?

on mine, that was corroded, Penske replaced it (it was a lease truck)

Main belt broke, that wasn't so easy. Shop guys put on a new one in short order, though. Second on that switch(we no longer have that).

Solar flares? Depending how old the truck is, I'd start with a bad ground to the frame. If it's a newer truck, may God have mercy on your soul, and your wallet.

Open up the battery box and start wiggling wires. Id focus on the ones hitting the cab power supply first since your eld blinked too.

It's those darn Italian satellites! The same ones that magically switched votes on voting machines in the last election!
