I wouldn't worry too much about being of an advanced age. Flatbed will keep all the joints moving so you aren't as stiff all the time. It keeps the muscles active so you don't end up with moobs or bingo arms. It keeps you moving, which burns calories, which helps keep you from getting fat. If you're careful, you won't fall. Keep your wits about and you won't hurt yourself. I'm 52 now and, while I'm not as spry as I used to be, a lot of these 30-whatevers aren't as fit as I am. Also, you'll see some 70 year olds out here still doing flatbed and even a few women (though many of them don't really *look* like women).
Well, after all was said and done, I am going with Swift after all!

as to the O/P ... I really don't have any beefs with or about Swift. I've heard since they've merged (acquisitioned?) with Knight... it's gonna be a little more stringent; and that's not a bad thing~!!!
Keep me in the loop, O/P and YOU TOO, PUP~!!!Puppage Thanks this. -

The 'A' service was added, and the 'B' service takes more time because they check more things.
I'm not complaining because they sometimes find more to fix. I like a safe truck.
I will complain about cutting the shop hours nearly everywhere, so things can get quite backed up and take a lot more time.
If you add time to every service, does it make sense to cut people and hours at the same time?
And to add to that, Knight just closed my terminal. They do not see the need for the IGH terminal anymore, even though there is nothing else better around that area. They certainly don't have something in that area other than a drop yard.
We can still use it as a drop lot and such, for the time being. But if they close it altogether it will make things difficult when I go home and have an mt. That Knight drop yard might be getting pretty full at that point.
I am now assigned to the Menahsa, WI terminal - a terminal I have been to twice in nearly nine years.
My new DM seems OK, and sometimes I am planned from there with decent loads.
I would like to get up there to meet him face to face, along with the other people there.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
