Our trailers really are 50' I don't know why not 48' I don't have any idea.
It's been a whirl win 2 days of non-stop work. I did 1019 cases yesterday when that day was done I went to Pittsburgh at night. Got in at 11:00pm took a nap got up at 1:30am went to the actual warehouse and grabbed my paper work found my trailer and took off for Cleveland at 3am.

There I am at a big major major really big major hospital systems main warehouse in Cleveland,Ohio. This morning at 5:45am.
Any how I did 2 stops today and 309 miles. I'm tired been up for gosh it seems like almost 24 hours.

There I am at my second stop at high school in Lorain County,Ohio.
Now this is interesting look at the difference in ramp angles between the 50' and 28'

The 50' has a lot less sever of an angle. Then the 28'. The 50' sits closer to the ground I think it's because it has no pintelhook.

Mostly Ohio 1 off routes that are just volume runs out of the warehouse.

I don't know why the 50' maybe because we like being different. Must be more cube I guess, but I know 50' is strange. They are true 50' trailers.

What will affect that is the height of your fifth wheel and the placement of your trailer tandem. The taller your fifth wheel, the more pronounced an effect tandem placement will have on deck height.

I've seen 50 footers up in Canada for a couple reasons 1 was to do with turnpike lengths and the other was tractor wheel base restrictions on 53 footers .. A 50 footer it's easier to fit oversize pallets than a 48 was also mentioned

The 50' is a compromise offering nearly the cube of the 53' and nearly the maneuverability of the 48'... oh, and in pesky places with 65' overall length laws, it comes in handy. Perdue used to run spread axle 50' reefers around the northeast, though I haven't seen one in awhile.
