I currently run on a Dollar Tree account for Werner. Some of these replies are utter ridiculousness.

Pay: $75k? Let's not get crazy. 55-60k is completely doable. I average $1200-$1300 a week.

Hometime: I normally get home Saturday morning/afternoon and cruise out Monday morning.

Work: Won't lie, summertime can be brutal in the trailer. Especially west coast and southwest. I have a 100' extension cord and an industrial fan I pull into the trailer. Some boxes can be heavy (water and bleach mainly) but it isn't "backbreaking".

Backing: Some stores are a little harder than others, but many of them have more than enough room to maneuver. Unless you are constantly hitting things, you have nothing to worry about. Get out, survey what's around, ask for help from store employees, use Google maps/earth before you get to the location to plan the best approach. I hit a car that was illegally parked and I'm still here. Talked to safety, did some computer class stuff, and 45 day "probation".

The job isn't for everybody. I enjoy driving for 2-3 hours and unloading the rest of my day. I couldn't do OTR staring at the road for 11 hours a day. Plus I enjoy going home to my wife on the weekend.

Which state do you live in; Ohio? Which type trucking interests you; we'll give you some name to look at.
Are you over 21,22,23 yrs. of age?
    Do you have endorsements?

Look at Britton Transport; it's not a mega company and @hoosiergirl can tell you about that.
If you're in Ohio, also look at Nick Strimbu Inc in Brookfield,Ohio ; this company has Teamsters benefits.
    Dutch Maid Logistics in Willard,Ohio.
    Magnum Ltd.
Freymiller (www.drive4freymiller.com) New grads go through their "Restore" program.
    JRayL Transport - local/regional/OTR

How'd you get 'OHIO' out of this? Then again, you're great at what you do. You may really want to check into Fab for Ohio peeps.....they're drop and hook vans, but .... small and la familia ... Seven or 8 years ago I'd have been there myself. They call me weekly. So does a few other places, ie: Garner. I deliver across the street from them, LoL! They got my name somehow, ie: numbers?

I'm guessing Ohio; he has an Ohio accent; I think!
As you know @G13Tomcat some of the better companies, that hire new cdl grads, aren't well known and won't hear about them in cdl school.

Hahaha.. yeah, you got me there.. we DO have our "Ohio Speak," hahaha!! True that. I've heard of a few decent ones myself; but many say "experience... blah blah..." Fab is desperate, and Decker USED to be great. Not even sure if they exist anymore. Look at Gunner's job, out of Cincy... Transport National. Little known, but wow.

This is why I wish I'd have found you years ago, before my US and T/A and FedEx/LineHaul gigs, LoL!

Decker is still around; flatbed & refrigerated. They've cracked down and now pretty strict on having a few months experience; 3 or 6 months.
