I currently run on a Dollar Tree account for Werner. Some of these replies are utter ridiculousness.
Pay: $75k? Let's not get crazy. 55-60k is completely doable. I average $1200-$1300 a week.
Hometime: I normally get home Saturday morning/afternoon and cruise out Monday morning.
Work: Won't lie, summertime can be brutal in the trailer. Especially west coast and southwest. I have a 100' extension cord and an industrial fan I pull into the trailer. Some boxes can be heavy (water and bleach mainly) but it isn't "backbreaking".
Backing: Some stores are a little harder than others, but many of them have more than enough room to maneuver. Unless you are constantly hitting things, you have nothing to worry about. Get out, survey what's around, ask for help from store employees, use Google maps/earth before you get to the location to plan the best approach. I hit a car that was illegally parked and I'm still here. Talked to safety, did some computer class stuff, and 45 day "probation".
The job isn't for everybody. I enjoy driving for 2-3 hours and unloading the rest of my day. I couldn't do OTR staring at the road for 11 hours a day. Plus I enjoy going home to my wife on the weekend.
Werner Dedicated accounts (general dollar, family dollar etc.)
