I live in central KY and want to know if you can go directly from school into Werner's flatbed division. And does anyone know if their flatbed division is Solo cause I refuse to run teams.

Dude.... You might as well quit now then! Cause after you get out of your lovely trucking school.... Your going to be put in a truck with another driver. It doesn't matter what company you go with & some range a month to 6 months!

I know I'm going to have a trainer but once I'm done with my trainer I don't want anyone else in my truck.

Is there a reason you say it sucks and were you part of their flatbed division?

Hey devildog...I realize this is weeks old but no one posted an actual answer so i wanted to chime in....

I work for werner and i tried to get on their flatbed. I was told nope, they dont even run them in my area.

But then i met a flatbed owner op for werner in a drop yard and asked him about it...Oh, theres only 60 trucks on the flatbed division.

Yeah, so you basically have no chance of ever running flat for werner. Only 60 trucks. ;)

    6 weeks out? Wow.

Right now the flatbed division is pretty much closed to new drivers. Also, the flatbed division gets paid less per mile than the van and reefer divisions.

    Maverick Griff Thanks this.

My husband and I, we prefer flatbed but right now....its best to not count on it. Try your luck with an all flatbed company. In your area ask about Melton, Western Express, Boyd, and Zimmerman's. I can't say if any of those companies are any good but they do cover your area. I have heard really good things about Melton.

Is that possible? How much do you have to pay per mile?
