OLDSKOOLERnWV, broke down plumber, Concorde and 1 other person Thank this. -
If the current lead person at DOT is....what I think he is -- he won't be cutting them any slack in the language fluency world.
Feel more than free to prove me wrong on that (& best of luck, too
).....

Well if you’re thinking that he’s a political hack then you’d be right

“California, Washington and New Mexico could lose millions of dollars of federal funding if they continue failing to enforce English language requirements for truckers, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Tuesday.”
Crickets on Texas..
That was too easy, lol
just messin with yah lual -
The state is making the deal, not Werner. So look forward to more drivers with language difficulty and much higher accident rates on the US roads. The ATA, American Transportation Association's "driver shortage" lie will continue to kill innocent people on the road.
"Go easy on him driver. He's only been in a motor vehicle twice and one of those was being locked in the trunk of a taxi."Numb, broke down plumber and Concorde Thank this. -
Some states are enforcing the language matter and some states, CA & TX, were not. I saw someone breakdown the Out of Service rates/causes elsewhere online and WY, TN, and some other states are dropping the hammer while other states are slow-walking the enforcement. The TX Governor SAID he's requiring his state to enforce the language rule despite TX being in some sort of international zone that allowed non-enforcement.broke down plumber Thanks this.

Well looks like Texas was threatened and the state since did a 180.
Refreshing to see they are now vigorously enforcing ELP and… no longer will issue to intrastate only drivers also don’t speak English.
“Abbott said from now on, DPS won’t issue intrastate licenses to anyone who can’t speak English.”

Texas is also tooting the autonomous truck horn a bit too soon & too loud (Abbott), as well.....
