Well from what my recruiter told me that yes their's alot of loads coming and going to the northeast. Alot of ppl say they are a loose company but i think its what terminal you're dispatch from and i seen that first hand when i did my little spell with them.. But luckly i got another chance today to come back and finish my training.. Whew!!! Man i consider that a blessing, but like all the rest every company gonna have there pros & cons. Western pay is pretty low at 30cpm for trainee's but i'm looking at it different now.. Get your experience and move up the ladder.. Hope this help at least a little..

Yes they have all the Northeast you can handle. They burn up I-95 & I-81. They are not the best on pay scale out there but 30 CPM and 2500 miles a week is what they offer. They have fairly good trucks, most are 2-4 yrs old now. Try to ask for a Nashville dispatcher, they get better loads than their outisde terminal dispatchers.

Some people have a different look on Western Exp. but everyone OP is never the same, right? And yes i really think it's about what terminal you're dispatch from.. I really do... Nashville have alot of..... rush, rush, rush type system send him to Cali type system and let em sit on the weekend somewhere. But so far they have been giving me long haul on fridays to run through the weekend and be ready for some else when MT monday morning. Just me been happy so far

As far as a experience driver i would look else where for something more rewarding in the pay area.. Just my O/P. -
how often does one get a raise with them?
Hunter -
their not a northeast company, their basically a east coast company...they don't give out raises, after your 1st 90 day's you must request one, they'll raise you to .31 cpm..after your 1st year you must request also, and they'll bump you to .32 cpm..if you don't request, don't expect...if you load or unload in new york don't expect without requesting...the comp. doesn't give out anything without your request...short haul, bonus' ...etc..nothing..

Will Western start you out on flatbeds or do they make you go Van first?
