I talked to the sales guy, and he claims 400K on the rebuild. I’ll have to ask if he knows who rebuilt it. Can’t ever trust salesmen.

I looked at a W900 that fit with that phrase. $27,000 for a 96 that came with a 48x102 aluminum flatbed. Seemed like a good deal, right? Looked at it in person and most the clear coat is peeling, engine was overhauled (but in 2003 in Mexico), A/C pump belt wasn’t on it, needed 4 tires and the adjustable steering column wiggled side to side a bit. All of a sudden the price seemed a bit high...

The Cat 5ek was kinda known for breaking crankshafts, and might explain the early rebuild, if there was one.

Read @Tug Toy 's thread.
He has a older International.
See how much time and $$$$ he has put in that truck.
Do you have a shop?
Experience with doing your own mechanical work? -
I had an old cat about that year once and cat was selling remans that were 500 hp , I would start by running the engine number through cat. It could be one of their remans
Gumper Thanks this. -
I do have my own shop and tools. Planned on doing most work on whatever truck I get myself.
daf105paccar Thanks this. -
I don’t care what was done to that old white cab WS. I would never pay over $15,000 for one with a log loader on it. In 97 they started coming out with the constellation cab. That’s the big cab.
Gumper Thanks this.
