I have been running a super single side dump for about 6 months now and I’m thinking of going otr. My husband has done flatbed for 20+ years now and that interest me but I’m unsure if that’s what I want to do. Does anyone know of a good company that pays decent for a new driver?

Where is your location?
I'd go with reefers in the current freight environment. -

It depends on what you are trying to achieve. Telling us I want to make good money and have an easy day, doesn't mean anything unless you define "good money" and /"easy day".
It depends on how often you MUST be home and how long.
what type of freight you want to pull
where do you want to operate
what time of day do you need/want to operate
and many other things.
Imagine someone asking a crowd "What is the best food for me to eat?" We have to know what you are trying to achieve, how much you can spend, is this for one snack, a full meal, are you vegetarian, have allergies, preferences, etc. It comes down to how much research are you willing to put into the answer.snowlauncher Thanks this. -

I’m thinking I’d like to either try dry or even flatbed. Decent money means enough to help support my family and home time is always important to me. I have grandkids who love their nana. I’m not sure if that helps any.

As far as times I’m willing to operate I’m open to any hours really. I mean I’d prefer not to do a graveyard shift if possible but as far as freight I’m not sure. I’m trying to discover what would be good for me. I’ve learned real quick the dirt world isn’t what I expected and don’t know if it’s for me and I don’t mean that it’s hard or anything or even the fact it’s dirty. That I could care less about and well I’m not lazy so.

There's some newer distribution centers there in Clearfield, off the highway that goes to Antelope Island.Refrigerated and dry van.I don't know what they're paying in that area though.
