I can get a reading from the crankshaft sensor no problem
bigguns Thanks this. -
Eh, never mind. My new more expense multi meter won’t pick up this sensor for whatever reason. I paid 50 for this multimeter. I went and grabbed my 5 dollar harbor freight unit and it gets a reading. Go figure

bigguns, BoxCarKidd and pushbroom Thank this. -
Is it the difference between meters or the cam sensor itself? Myself I would need to figure that out before going ahead. Might just be me though.

Im pretty sure it could have been the selection made on the voltimeter, to get a reading on the sensor you need to put it in resistance ohms not continuity

If you want to do real troubleshooting go on eBay and buy a Snap-On Vantage graphing multi-meter, it's not in production anymore but there are plenty of used ones for sale.
