He said the one with issues was consuming a average of 2 gallons of oil a day, when they contacted Fitzgerald they told the company to keep running it, they did and the engine failed.
When they contacted Fitzgerald about the engine failure Fitzgerald told the company to get the truck to Tennessee asap, the truck was based in North Jersey.
They moved it by lowboy on a friday and had the truck back monday morning, Fitzgerald paid for the lowboy move and all the drivers expenses while they replaced the motor.
The warranty on a Fitzgerald Detroit is in house, thats what that stop sign on the engine means, if it has issues Fitzgerald has to be notified by a certified Detroit entity to be reimbursed.
It is a good engine, the only issue i have heard of is when you get one in a glider as with any engine you don't know how many times the engine has been rebuilt so you could get a fresh complete rebuild with a block that has 3 million miles on it.
Which is still better then the new engines in todays truck.cke Thanks this. -
