I hear in the wind that truckers have to deal with AI dashcams giving them loud, distracting, and frequent false positives. I was wondering if there were companies that dont use AI with their drivers, or am I boned?

It depends on the company. I have a lytx camera in my truck, and I have never had a phone call from my safety department. It is not because I drive perfectly, either. You want to look for a company whose office people were once drivers, and not just for 6 months for the right to say that, who know what is a big deal and what isn't.

Insurance companies often require those cameras be used in order for the trucking company to get the less outrageously expensive insurance rates. So, as a rule eventually everyone will have one watching them if they don't already have one watching them drive. Trucking companies usually don't advertise 'we don't use cameras' and companies that didn't use them for decades may have started this year. Find the company that seems to fit your needs and personality, and then talk to the drivers currently working at the company and ask them about the cameras. MOST trucking companies have the forward facing cameras looking at the windshield and more and more companies are adding the driver-facing cameras. Even companies that don't have the cameras have event recorders that record your speed and braking, etc and so you should drive like the cops and your boss are watching you drive so you don't develop bad habits and don't volunteer for crashes or tickets. Many newbies just accept they are going to be getting into minor wreck and accumulate tickets, which is a crazy way to enter an industry where the dangers are so great. You should drive as if never getting a ticket and never having a wreck is the bare minimum, not some trmendous accomplishment. Newbies seem to have about 1% of the caution they should. Plenty of newbies have 2-4 events where they damage buildings or other vehicles or their own truck and they still don't seem to try and be more careful. WTF?
