Hey guys I'm looking for a trucking company that will train me and provide lodging and pay me while I train. The problem is although I'm 26 I haven't had my license very long and most companies require that I have my license for 18 months

How long have you had your license?
    Where is your location?

    Try Carolina Logistics www.carolinalogistics.net
Someone posted yesterday that Panther Premium www.panther4me.com hires drivers with non-commercial drivers license to drive cargo vans. If that's correct, start there.

From what was posted, you don't need a cdl to drive cargo vans. It's like driving a car. Look at the picture I posted. I thought you need a cdl for the cargo van, but yesterday a driver said you don't. Call Panther and ask.
Try Carolina Logistics for cdl training.

So what your saying is you've only known how to drive any vehicle for a few months? Yes it would be best for you just to learn how to navigate through traffic in a 4 wheeler first before you even try to comprehend how to drive a massive 18 wheeler weighing some 40 ton.

Maybe he can drive for a local courier service and get some experience on the roads and highways.

Even some Americans aren't getting a drivers license these days until they're in their 20's and it's causing probems for them. When I was growing up we all got our license at 16. "Coming of Age" was getting a drivers license at 16 and signing up for the military draft at 18.

Exactly!! At 15 and 9 months to the day I got my learner's and on my 16th birthday I was waiting in line at the MVA. I see alot of my kid's friends don't even bother. Some are in their 20's and never bothered. I don't get it.
