Got a guy wants me to drive a flatbed load. Pick up, drive 45 miles, and drop off. Doing that 4 times minimum. He's providing fuel, truck, trailer, and all gear. All he needs me to do is secure and drive the load. Total driving would be approx 300 miles.

I already agreed to run it, but haven't told him a price. Should I charge an hourly rate or a flat rate? In either case what is a decent rate to run. I want to give him a deal so maybe I could get more runs in the future if this works out, but need it to be worth my time (already running 55hrs a week and this would be on the weekend)

I have 2 years experience with all endorsements (even though none would be used in this case) and started out in flatbed.

    Any feedback is helpful

I'd say hourly as theres no telling how long securement will take, and local moves always have some traffic.

Additionally, this will count against your 70 by law.

1099 or w2? Its all his #### so should be w2..

    Id say .60 cpm + $25 per a delivery.

    If its 1099
id ask for $100 trip + 25hr detention after 1hr.

Also 90 milea a trip x 4 minimum trips is 360 miles. I dont see any more than 4 trips if any kind of loading/unloading..

I'd go with hourly, it might take them a long time to load and unload.

    Not enough info.
Does he have his own authority?
    What’s the equipment like?
Who’s responsible for any issues with the equipment in the event you’re placed OOS?
    What are you hauling?

I can see $1000 going in my pocket. Easily.

I don't even think 4 trips would be possible.

At a minimum of 1 hour each way. That's 8 hours drive at least.

He doesn't specify what the haul would be or the route. But 3 trips would probably be his max.
