Hi, I'm looking to make the move from company driver to independent dispatcher and was just wondering what you all look for when selecting a company to dispatch you. (I'm not advertising for my company, just gathering information)

I don't know anyone who uses a dispatcher. I never would, I handle everything myself.

Only time you want a dispatcher as an owner op is being leased to a company and running 100% of their loads. And even that is situational at best.

You want to start a dispatching company? Why would anyone need that? Who is going to give you info for you to give Drivers, that have it already?
    Am I missing something here?

I look in the mirror. I know what I want, moment by moment, day by day. I know what I know from being onsite, in the truck, on the road, at the shipper, at the receiver, talking to customers and brokers. Do you? Thought so.

What could you offer that I can't do better for myself? No need to answer, the answer is nothing. And you want to take a cut for that?

    Hilarious.

I would never hire a dispatcher. No owner operator should ever hire a dispatcher, unless its their family and they need something to do. If you want to dispatch work for a trucking company. Owner operators become OO to not have a dispatcher.
